Joel Pereira

Manchester United goalkeeper Joel Pereira has left the club on loan for the new campaign.

The Red Devils shot-stopper has moved to the Scottish Premiership for the new season.

Joel Pereira has signed for Scottish Premiership giants Hearts on a season-long loan deal until next summer.

The Portuguese goalkeeper has been on the payroll at Manchester United for seven years (since 2012).

Joel Pereira has made three first-team appearances only since joining the club.

He has spent the best part of his time as a Manchester United player on loan at other clubs.

The player has had loan spells with clubs like English League One outfit Rochdale, Belgian top flight side Kortrijk as well as Portuguese clubs like Belenenses and Vitoria Setubal.

Joel Pereira will compete with the likes of Zdenek Zlamal and Colin Doyle for a starting place at Hearts.

He is the second first-team goalkeeper to leave Manchester United on loan this summer after Dean Henderson.

The English goalkeeper spent last season on loan at Sheffield United and he has returned to the newly promoted Premier League club for another loan spell this season.

Dean Henderson was in goal for Sheffield United as they battled to a 1-1 draw away to Bournemouth in their Premier League opener.
