Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has slammed his former club for the sale of Romelu Lukaku.
Manchester United officially announced the exit of Romelu Lukaku last week.
Jose Mourinho talked about Lukaku and Manchester United shortly after the Premier League opener with Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Portuguese tactician was in the Sky Sports studios for the game.
According to him, Manchester United made a mistake by selling Lukaku to Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan.
Mourinho further revealed that Romelu Lukaku gives Manchester United an option against the smaller teams that like to defend deeply.
Manchester United won’t have problems on the attacking front against expansive teams according to Jose Mourinho with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Alexis Sanchez.
Jose Mourinho thinks the aforementioned attacking options will have a problem with teams with solid defensive shape.
Manchester United will struggle to break those teams down without the physical presence of the aforementioned Lukaku.
Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan will pay around £73.9m including £9.2m in add-ons.
Romelu Lukaku has been handed the number nine jersey at Inter Milan and he has signed a five-year deal at the club until the end of the 2023/24 season.
