Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has had his say about the title race ahead of the new Premier League season.

Klopp and his players will start the new Premier League season as they welcome newly-promoted team Norwich City to Anfield.

While speaking about the title race with Sky Sports, Klopp said the big six teams are well equipped to fight for the Premier League title.

This is in stark contrast to the widespread belief that it would be a two-way horse race for the title.

Liverpool and Manchester City are seen as the genuine title contenders ahead of the new season.

The two teams showed a glimpse of what to expect at the weekend during the Community Shield which ended in a 1-1 draw before Premier League champions Manchester City defeated Liverpool 5-4 on penalties.

Klopp and Liverpool had the best points rally in the history of the club last season but it was not enough to win the Premier League title as the reigning European champions were beaten by Manchester City.

Liverpool finished the season with 97 points behind Manchester City who had 98 points.

Liverpool had the third best point tally in the history of the competition and still didn’t win the title.
