North London giants Arsenal have failed with a bid for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano according to the latest reports emanating from the German media.
Arsenal are in the market for a centre back and they have just three days to achieve their target.
According to German newspaper SportBild, Arsenal made a bid of £55m for Dayot Upamecano and it was rejected by his German Bundesliga club, RB Leipzig.
Dayot Upamecano has a release clause of £92m which will drop to £73m by next summer.
The young French centre back has two years left on his current deal at RB Leipzig.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will go back with an improved bid for the 20-year-old after their opening offer was turned down by the Germans.
Dayot Upamecano has been at RB Leipzig since January 2017 when he joined them from parent club RB Salzburg FC of Austria for £9m.
He made 22 appearances for RB Leipzig in the league during the last campaign.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery decided to get a new centre back shortly after the 4-1 heavy Europa League loss to Chelsea in May.
Dayot Upamecano was scouted extensively during the European u-21 Championship in Italy and San Marino this summer.
