West Ham United defender Reece Oxford has joined German Bundesliga club Augsburg.

The 20-year-old has signed for the German club on the back of a successful loan spell during the second half of last season.

The young English player spent the first half of the last campaign on loan at German Bundesliga club Borussia Moenchengladbach before his loan spell at Augsburg.

Reece Oxford made four league appearances for Borussia Moenchengladbach during his loan spell at the club.

During his loan spell at Augsburg, the player featured nine times in all competitions including eight German Bundesliga appearances.

Reece Oxford has previously been linked with a move to North London giants Arsenal.

He is a utility player who came through the ranks at West Ham United before making his debut for the first team at the age of 16.

The West Ham United Academy graduate can play in a lot of positions on the pitch ranging from centre back to central midfield to fullback.

Reece Oxford made his Premier League debut against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium during the game which ended in a 2-0 win for the Hammers.

It was the opening game of the 2014/15 season.

He’s the youngest ever debutant in the history of the club.
