Premier League giants Manchester United have confirmed the arrival of Harry Maguire from Leicester City.
His transfer was announced earlier on Monday afternoon.
Harry Maguire is now the most expensive defender in the history of world football after the transfer from Leicester City to Manchester United.
Manchester United will pay £80m for the England international centre back plus £5m in add-ons.
Harry Maguire is the third summer signing at Manchester United after Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Welsh international Daniel James joined Manchester United from Swansea City FC of Wales, while England junior international Wan-Bissaka signed for the Red Devils from fellow Premier League club Crystal Palace.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was keen to sign a new quality centre back and the Norwegian tactician has finally gotten his man.
Manchester United and Leicester City had been in negotiations for the English centre back in the past few weeks.
The previous record for the most expensive defender was Virgil Van Dijk who joined Liverpool from Southampton during the 2018 winter transfer window.
Liverpool paid £75m to secure his transfer from the Saints.
Virgil Van Dijk has been a key player for Liverpool since his transfer from Southampton at the start of last year.
