Europa League finalists Arsenal are reportedly in talks with a French Ligue 1 club for wantaway club skipper Laurent Koscielny.

According to the publication from the stables of popular media outlet Goal, Laurent Koscielny is almost certain to leave the club this summer as he’s at a point of no return.

Laurent Koscielny opted not to play for Arsenal again after failing to embark on the preseason tour of the United States of America.

According to him, Arsenal reneged on a gentleman’s agreement that he will be allowed to leave the club this summer on a free transfer despite the fact that he has one year left on his current deal with the Gunners.

Arsenal officials have denied vehemently the existence of that agreement.

Laurent Koscielny will definitely lose the captain’s armband if he manages to stay at Arsenal beyond this summer with club manager Unai Emery keen to appoint a new skipper before the new season starts next weekend.

The 33-year-old has been attracting the interest of a lot of French clubs.

Arsenal want to sell him for a sizeable transfer fee as he still has a year left on his contract.

According to Goal, Arsenal are in talks with Bordeaux over a deal for the 33-year-old centre back.

Rennes and Lyon are also interested in him.
