Former Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele is back at the club following his appointment as the new Young Player Technical Mentor.
His return to Chelsea has been influenced by two of his former teammates namely Petr Cech and Frank Lampard.
Ex-Czech Republic international shot stopper Cech is the new sporting director at Chelsea after his retirement from football this summer.
Petr Cech spent the last four years at Arsenal before he made the decision to hang up his gloves this summer.
He was immediately offered the sporting director role at Chelsea who have been without one since the resignation of former Super Eagles player Michael Emenalo in 2017.

On his part, Frank Lampard has signed a three-year deal to become the new Chelsea manager.
He was named the new Blues boss on the back of a very good season with English Championship side Derby County.
Lampard led the Rams to the English Championship playoff final before they were beaten 2-1 by Aston Villa as they missed out on the third and final Premier League spot to former European champions Villa.
Norwich City and Sheffield United are the other teams promoted to the Premier League ahead of the new season billed to start on Friday.
