Breaking: Nigeria beat South Africa 2-1, qualify for AFCON

Nigeria Super Eagles have qualified for the last four of the Africa Cup of Nations, following a thrashing of 2-1 win over their bitter rival South Africa on Wednesday night.

Super Eages new boy, Samuel Chukwueze gave the Eagles an early 1-0 lead before the break, he throngs into his own rebound to kick the ball pass the South African goalkeeper.

However, Sout Africans who are known as Bafana Bafana equalised in the second half, thanks to Video Assistant Referee (VAR) decision.

In just 89 minutes and the match looking to head into extra time, William Troost-Ekong forced the ball over the line in the final minute of play.

Nigeria are now confirmed to play the winner between Algeria and Ivory Coast, for a place in the AFCON final.
