South London club Crystal Palace are reportedly ready to spend as much as £10m on Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
According to the publication from renowned English media portal Daily Star, the Eagles manager is in the market for a striker in a bid to add firepower to his tame attack and he has identified Welbeck as his solution.
Danny Welbeck is no stranger to Roy Hodgson after he played under him while he was the England manager before his exit at the end of the 2016 European Championships in France.
Crystal Palace are one of the lowest scorers in the new Premier League season and the former Fulham and Liverpool manager is out to correct that.
The Eagles have scored just eight goals in 11 appearances in the league and Danny Welbeck could be the solution to the South Londoners’ lack of goals.
The former Sunderland man has less than a year left on his current Arsenal deal with no signs of a new contract yet.
This has led to transfer reports linking the Manchester United Academy graduate with Premier League clubs like Everton and Crystal Palace.
He has been able to show his form for Arsenal despite limited playing time.
Danny Welbeck has scored four goals for the Gunners in all competitions.
