Newly signed Paris Saint Germain (PSG) midfielder Ander Herrera has revealed the reason behind his exit from Manchester United this summer.

The Spaniard talked about what led to his Manchester United exit in an exclusive interview with Spanish media outlet Marca.

According to him, Manchester United undermined his importance to the team and that ultimately led to his exit this summer.

Manchester United were unable to prove his importance to the team.

Earlier reports had stated that Manchester United were unable to match the player’s weekly salary demands.

He went on to sign for Paris Saint Germain (PSG) on a free transfer after his Manchester United contract expired on the 1st of July.

Ander Herrera has signed a five-year deal at PSG until the end of the 2023/24 season.

The 29-year-old was unveiled as a new player at PSG earlier this month.

Ander Herrera signed for Manchester United in the summer of 2014 following his move from Spanish La Liga giants Atheltic Bilbao.

He joined the Red Devils from the Spanish club in a £29m deal and he went on to score 20 goals for the Premier League giants in five years.

Manchester United are yet to sign a replacement for him since his exit.
