Premier League giants Manchester United have concluded plans to open talks with Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic according to the latest reports emanating from the media in the United Kingdom.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been a transfer target for Manchester United dating back to last summer.

According to The Sun, Manchester United have reignited their interest in the Serbian international star and that his agent flew into London on Saturday for talks.

The 24-year-old is seen as a possible replacement for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba who has expressed his desire to leave the club this summer.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was linked with the best of the best clubs on the European football scene before a poor 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia jeopardized his opportunity for a big money move.

Manchester United wanted him as a midfield partner for Paul Pogba but he could replace him this summer instead since the French World Cup winner is keen to leave Manchester United.

Pogba is in his second spell at Manchester United following his return from Italian champions Juventus three years ago.

The French international star became the most expensive footballer in the world after his £89m return to Old Trafford in the summer of 2016.
