North London giants Arsenal have been given a major transfer boost in their pursuit of Celtic defender Kieran Tierney this summer.

According to experienced Italian journalist Aurelio Capaldi, Napoli are focusing on a sensational move for Real Madrid star James Rodriguez.

It was revealed that the main focus of Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti is to get the deal over the line.

Napoli are the main challengers to Arsenal in their bid to sign Kieran Tierney from Scottish champions Celtic this summer.

Recent reports claimed that Napoli want to sell Portuguese left-back Marco Rui to fund a move for Kieran Tierney.

Scottish international Tierney has grown to become one of the best young left-backs in world football and it’s not surprising that clubs like Arsenal and Napoli are interested in him.

The Scotsman is also a utility player who can play effectively and efficiently as a central defender or as a right-back.

Arsenal have already been rebuffed by Celtic on two occasions in their quest to sign him.

A first bid of £15m was turned down by the Scottish Premiership giants before a second bid of £17.5m met the same response from Celtic.

The Scottish champions have already signed a left-back replacement for Tierney with the capture of Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo from Rapid Vienna FC of Austria in a £3m deal.
