Italian Serie A giants Napoli are set to complete a move for AS Roma defender in a swap deal according to the latest reports coming out of Italy.

Napoli are on the search for a partner for star defender Kalidou Koulibaly this summer and they might have found one in AS Roma star Kostas Manolas.

According to experienced Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Greek international Kostas Manolas will join Napoli in a swap deal with midfielder Amadou Diawara going in the other direction.

Kostas Manolas is a long-term transfer target for two major Premier League clubs namely Arsenal and Manchester United.

The 28-year-old will receive €2m from his exit clause which stands at €36m with AS Roma getting the remaining €34m.

Kostas Manolas has already agreed to a yearly of €4.5m ahead of his move to Napoli.

For Amadou Diawara, AS Roma will pay €18m for him in addition to €2m in bonuses.

Napoli are keen to wrestle the Italian Serie A title from rivals Juventus and Kostas Manolas could be a key part of that quest if he can form a potent centre back partnership with the aforementioned Koulibaly.

Juventus have won the last eight Italian Serie A titles dating back to the 2011/12 season.
