Premier League giants Manchester United have a clear run at Leicester City defender Harry Maguire after City rivals Manchester City pulled out of the race to sign him.

According to The Sun, Premier League champions Manchester City are no longer in the running to sign Harry Maguire after they were priced out of a move by Leicester City.

Harry Maguire wants a move to Manchester City but the England international centre back won’t get his wish during this summer’s transfer window.

Leicester City have slapped a price tag of £85m on him, while Manchester City were willing to offer £50m plus their fringe players.

For now, Manchester United are the clear favourites but the Red Devils are yet to agree a deal for their man.

Their last offer of £70m plus Marcos Rojo was turned down by Leicester City who are not bulging on their asking price.

Manchester United were also interested in Maguire last summer but the Foxes’ financial demands led to the collapse of the transfer.

The player signed a new Leicester City contract some weeks after the interest from Manchester United.

The Red Devils need to shake things up defensively to avoid the embarrassment of last season when Manchester United performed below expectations.
