Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi will get his chance to impress new manager Frank Lampard after the Belgian international traveled with the squad on their preseason tour of Ireland.

He has spent several loan spells away from Chelsea since his multi-million pounds move from French giants Marseille in 2016.

Michy Batshuayi scored the clinching goal for Chelsea when they won their last league title during the 2016/17 season.

He spent last season on loan at two different clubs on the back of his loan spell at German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund during the second half of the 2017/18 campaign.

Batshuayi scored six goals in 13 appearances for Crystal Palace in all competitions during the second half of last season.

Crystal Palace were hoping to secure his transfer permanently this summer but the striker could have a future at the club under new manager Frank Lampard.

Before his successful Crystal Palace loan spell, Batshuayi spent last season on loan at Spanish La Liga club Valencia before the Spaniards terminated his loan spell in January.

Gonzalo Higuain has gone back to Juventus after his loan spell at Chelsea thus leaving Olivier Giroud, Tammy Abraham and the aforementioned Batshuayi as the recognized strikers at the club this summer.
