English Premier League outfit Chelsea are reported to be adding a new coaching staff to the club’s crew in the new year if reports according to The Telegraph are anything to go by.

The report claims that former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole will now take up a coaching role at the Stamford Bridge to give backing to manager Maurizio Sarri.

Joe Cole only retired officially from active football last month after which he immediately hinted that he would head straight into coaching.

The England international is reported to have been attending his coaching programmes even while in active football and had completed. This qualifies him for the job at the West London side.

However, Joe Cole has not been handed any specific role at the club but suggestions are that he could be handed a role with the youth teams which would be a perfect start for him to learn and gather some experience.

Meanwhile, Joe Cole was regarded as the most skilful English player of his time but was only limited by some injuries he had in the course of his career.

The England international turned coach will now follow in the foot-steps of the likes of John Terry and Frank Lampard.
