Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole has revealed that his former club won’t be able to stop Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi from wrecking havoc when both teams meet in the Champions League next week.
Manchester United will host Spanish champions Barcelona at Old Trafford on Tuesday night in what’s the first leg of their last eight meeting in the competition before the second leg clash in Spain eight days later.
Ahead of the first leg in Manchester, Andy Cole spoke to the official website of Manchester United about the game as he said that the Red Devils won’t be able to stop Messi from making a positive impact on the game.
Ex-England international Andy Cole is banking on Manchester United to get a win over the Catalan giants.
According to him, Manchester United can still win the game without doing a man-marking job on Messi.
Barcelona have been reliant on Messi this season and the Argentine superstar is already the favourite to win the 2019 Ballon D’Or.
Messi has scored 32 goals in the Spanish La Liga season in addition to providing 12 assists and his goal contributions have propelled Barcelona to the top of the table ahead of other title rivals like Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.
