North London giants Arsenal have been dealt a major transfer blow ahead of this summer’s transfer window following the news that Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are ready to block the move for one of their targets.
According to trusted Spanish media outlet AS, Atletico Madrid are not ready to lose the services of midfielder Thomas Partey who has been linked with a move to the Premier League.
The Ghanaian international midfielder has been touted as a possible transfer addition for English top flight clubs like Manchester City and Arsenal.
Both Premier League clubs might have to look elsewhere for possible midfield reinforcements after Partey was declared untransferable at the moment.
Thomas Partey is a valuable asset to Atletico Madrid and the Spaniards are not ready to let him leave the club.
He seen as the long-term replacement for Fernandinho at Premier League champions Manchester City.
At Arsenal, Thomas Partey is seen as the man to replace Aaron Ramsey who’s expected to join Italian champions Juventus.
Ramsey will join the Old Lady upon the expiration of his Gunners contract this summer and he has already signed a four-year deal with the Italian champions with weekly wages of £400,000 before tax, thus making him the highest earner amongst British footballers.
