Barcelona Complete Signing Of Arsenal Target

Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona have completed the signing of Brazilian international shot-stopper Neto from fellow Spanish La Liga club Valencia.

His transfer to the Nou Camp was confirmed earlier on Thursday.

Arsenal target Neto has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Spanish champions until the end of the 2022/23 season.

The 29-year-old was linked with the Gunners last summer before the North Londoners opted for German international Bernd Leno in a reported £22m deal from Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen.

Neto has joined Barcelona for €26m plus a possible €9m depending on add-ons.

He will battle with German national team goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen for the number one spot at Barcelona after second choice goalkeeper Jasper Cillissen left Barcelona to replace Neto at Valencia earlier this week.

Marc Andre Ter Stegen is expected to start the season as the first choice ahead of Neto.

Brazilian shot stopper Neto had a first taste of European football at Fiorentina in 2011 before moving to Juventus in 2015 after four years in Florence.

He was unable to displace veteran Italian shot stopper Gianlugi Buffon at Juventus and that prompted him to join Valencia in 2017.

Neto made 80 appearances in two years for Valencia.
