Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has confirmed that the Scottish Premiership giants want to keep exciting winger Ryan Kent at the club for the new season.

The Liverpool legend talked about keeping Ryan Kent at Ibrox in a chat with reporters as monitored by the Daily Record.

According to him, Rangers will like to keep the 22-year-old winger on loan for another year.

Ryan Kent was one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership last season following his loan move from newly crowned Champions League winners Liverpool.

He left Liverpool to join Rangers on loan last summer.

Ryan Kent scored four goals in 43 appearances for Rangers as he impressed during his loan spell with the Scottish giants.

His impressive performances for Rangers earned him the PFA Young Player of the Year Award at the end of the latest league season in the top flight of Scottish football.

Ryan Kent was instrumental to Rangers’ second-placed finish at the end of the season.

Rangers finished in second place behind champions Celtic who were able to retain their title successfully.

Leeds United are also interested in Ryan Kent whose permanent transfer would set prospective clubs to the tune of £10 to £12m though Liverpool could still hold on to their player for the new season.
