Manchester United fans have had their say over the possibility of signing controversial Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi this summer.

Earlier this month, news broke that Manchester United are ruminating over the idea of signing Mauro Icardi as part of the deal for Inter Milan target Romelu Lukaku.

As per the poll conducted by the Manchester Evening News (MEN), 49% of those who voted supported the move while 51% kicked against a transfer for the Argentine international striker.

4,098 fans participated in the Manchester United poll.

Belgian international star Lukaku has emerged as the top transfer target for Inter Milan this summer in the wake of the appointment of former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte as their new manager.

The Manchester United striker is also keen to sign for the Italians who are plotting his transfer to replace Mauro Icardi at the club.

Lukaku has spent two years at Old Trafford following his £75m move from fellow Premier League club Everton in the summer of 2017.

The former West Brom and Stoke City striker was a target for Antonio Conte at his former club Chelsea shortly before the Manchester United transfer.

The Italian tactician is close to landing the striker again at the second time of asking.
