Fallen Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly desperate to appoint a technical director in the coming weeks.
According to the publication from the stables of The Sun, the Red Devils want to name a sporting director by the time they jet out to Australia on July 8.
The Red Devils are keen to name a sporting director at the club in just two weeks.
It was revealed that senior club officials have held talks with both Rio Ferdinand and Darren Fletcher over the sporting director role.
Rio Ferdinand and Darren Fletcher played with distinction for Manchester United during their respective careers at Old Trafford.

Both players were part of the Champions League squad that won the last European title for the club in 2008.
Manchester United won the 2008 Champions League title after they defeated Premier League rivals Chelsea on penalties after both teams had played out a 1-1 draw at the end of both regulation time and extra time.
Manchester United have struggled in recent years without a sporting director and all is about to change with an appointment expected at the start of next month.
