Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly has offered Manchester United renewed hopes in their pursuit of him after his recent interview.

According to him, he’s not 100% sure if he will be at Napoli next year.

The 28-year-old went on to say that his focus is on Senegal and the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Egypt.

Kalidou Koulibaly was speaking shortly after the 2019 AFCON opener against Tanzania on Sunday.

In the interview with Goal, Kalidou Koulibaly didn’t rubbish or confirm the transfer rumours linking him with a move away from Napoli this summer.

Kalidou Koulibaly helped Senegal keep a clean sheet in their first game at the ongoing tournament in the North African country of Egypt.

He played the entire duration of the game as Senegal beat Tanzania 2-0 in the Group C clash.

Keita Bobo Balde and Krepin Diatta scored the goals for Senegal either side of the halftime interval.

Manchester United are long-term admirers of Kalidou Koulibaly who is said to be one of their main transfer targets this summer though Napoli have always maintained that the player is not going anywhere.

Kalidou Koulibaly is widely regarded as one of the best centre backs in world football and he has also been linked with clubs like Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
