Europa League winners Chelsea have until the end of this month to decide whether or not to sign Real Madrid loanee Mateo Kovacic permanently after his loan spell at the club.
The timeline for the decision on the 52-cap Croatian international was revealed by popular Spanish newspaper AS.
It was revealed that Chelsea have until June 30 to make a decision on the Croatian World Cup star.
Mateo Kovacic was part of the Croatian squad that surprisingly reached the final of the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia before they were beaten by eventual winners France via a 4-2 defeat.

Kovacic moved to Chelsea on loan shortly after the World Cup tournament as a part of the £35m deal that saw Belgian national team shot stopper Thibaut Courtois join Real Madrid.
He was linked with clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus before he signed for Chelsea on a season-long loan deal.
The Croatian star was one of the regular names on the Chelsea team list under Maurizio Sarri but he was not a favourite of the fans due to his lack of end product.
He helped Chelsea win the Europa League title via a 4-1 win over Arsenal in the final of the competition in Baku in May.
