Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan have reportedly made star striker Mauro Icardi available for transfer in the bid to raise funds for the signing of Romelu Lukaku.

According to The Guardian, Inter Milan want to raise £60m through the sale of Mauro Icardi who has two years left on his Nerazzurri contract and he’s surplus to requirements at the San Siro.

Inter Milan want to use the funds from the sale of Mauro Icardi for the signing of Romelu Lukaku.

Manchester United striker Lukaku is the top transfer target for the Nerazzurri this summer.

The Belgian international star was recommended to senior Inter Milan officials by newly appointed manager Antonio Conte who tried and failed to sign him for Chelsea in 2017 when he was still their manager.

Conte and Chelsea failed to re-sign former player Lukaku after they were beaten to his signature by Premier League rivals Manchester United.

Chelsea ended up with Alvaro Morata in 2017 after they had been beaten to the signing of Lukaku.

Spanish international Morata failed to perform at the highest level during his 18-month stay in West London and he has been farmed out on loan to Atletico Madrid for the next 18 months with the player keen not to return to Stamford Bridge after his loan spell in Spain.
