Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez will reportedly leave the Northeast club this summer.

This is according to the publication from the stables of the Daily Mirror which claimed that Rafael Benitez will leave his post as the Newcastle United manager when his contract expires this summer.

The former Liverpool boss has few days left on his current deal with the Magpies.

Rafael Benitez has been attracting interest from the Chinese Super League clubs.

He became the Newcastle United manager in 2016 but the Spaniard was unable to save the club from suffering relegation from the Premier League at the end of that season.

Benitez joined them on a temporary deal towards the end of the 2015/16 season.

He went on to sign a three-year contract with Newcastle United despite the fact that he was unable to save them from relegation to the English Championship.

The former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss masterminded promotion for Newcastle United in the following season by winning the 2016/17 English Championship title before leading them to 10th place in the first season back with the big boys.

Newcastle United then finished the latest Premier League season in 13th position.

Rafael Benitez has always been at loggerheads with clubs owner Mike Ashley over transfers.
