Paris Saint Germain (PSG) forward Neymar has suffered a major setback in his quest to re-sign for Spanish champions Barcelona this summer.

This is according to the report from French media outlet Le10 Sport which revealed that his weekly wage is proving to be a big obstacle to the move.

Neymar earns around €350,000 on a weekly basis but he would have to take a significant decrease for him to be able to join Barcelona this summer.

The long-term Manchester United target left Barcelona in controversial circumstances after PSG paid the full release clause in his then contract with the Nou Camp outfit.

PSG paid £200m (€222m) to secure his transfer from Barcelona thus making him the most expensive player in world football till date.

The French giants made the huge transfer coup two years ago in a bid to finally win Europe’s premier club competition but they have not been able to achieve that target.

In his two years at PSG, Neymar have been injured for the majority of his club’s campaign in the knockout stage of the Champions League.

Neymar is fed up with life at the Parc des Princes and he wants to re-join Barcelona, but he will have to take a pay cut to make that happen.
