Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has set his sights on the starting spot at the club ahead of the new season scheduled to start in two months.

Dean Henderson has seen his stock rise rapidly in 12 months after a successful loan spell at Sheffield United.

The 22-year-old kept 21 clean sheets in 46 English Championship games last season as Sheffield United secure promotion to the top flight of English football.

The Blades finished the season in second place behind champions Norwich City as both teams secured the two automatic spots for Premier League promotion.

Norwich City and Sheffield United will be joined in the Premier League by Aston Villa who sealed promotion by winning the playoffs via a 2-1 win over Derby County in their final clash.

In his latest interview monitored by the Daily Mail, Dean Henderson talked about his Manchester United target which is to secure the first team shirt in the goalkeeping department.

Dean Henderson was speaking ahead of the opening game for the England u-21s at the ongoing European Championships in Italy.

The Manchester United goalkeeper is a member of the England squad to the tournament in Italy.

As many as 14 clubs wanted to sign him before he joined Sheffield United on loan for last season.

Interest in his services is expected to soar this summer after a very good season for the Blades.

He had earlier spent loan periods at English clubs like Stockport County, Grimsby Town and Shrewsbury Town.
