United’s first summer capture could be delayed with Monaco’s interest
It was earlier reported that Man United will announce their first signing in the coming days after they claimed to have agreed on a deal with Swansea star Daniel James.
This might no longer happen with reports that French Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco have joined the race for Daniel James and they are also keen to land the signature of the Star Player.
Should Man United fail to secure the signature of the Star Player, they will be overtaken by the French Ligue 1 outfit which will be a big blow to the quest by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to have a new Man United team.

It was earlier thought that Man United will land Daniel James for a fee of 10 million euros but that will no longer happen as Swansea are now willing to give him out for a fee of 20 million euros, based on negotiations with the suitors.
This leaves Man United in a position to battle for the signature of the Star Player but they might be helped by the fact that Daniel James will seek to remain in England rather than play abroad where he might find it difficult to adapt to life as well as the pattern of play.
