Revealed: Napoli Set To Sign £27m Arsenal Target

Italian Serie A giants Napoli are closing in on the signing of Fiorentina midfielder Jordan Veretout ahead of the new season scheduled to begin as from August.

The new development on Napoli and former Aston Villa player Veretout was confirmed by Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato.

The 26-year-old had a very good season for a Fiorentina side that performed well below expectations at the end of the just concluded Italian Serie A campaign.

The French midfielder was a previous target for North London giants Arsenal but the Gunners have moved on to other midfield targets in their quest to sign a replacement for Aaron Ramsey after the Welsh international player left the club for Italian champions Juventus on a free transfer.

Jordan Veretout scored five goals and also provided three assists for Fiorentina who survived the threat of relegation from the top flight of Italian football after a goalless draw at home to Genoa.

Napoli have agreed on a £27m deal for him according to the aforementioned publication from Calcio Mercato as they try to usurp holders Juventus in the race for the Premier League title next season.

Carlo Ancelotti led Napoli to another second-place finish in his first campaign as manager and he’s keen to achieve more in the new season.
