Spanish champions Barcelona are closing in on a major transfer this summer if reports emanating from the media in the United Kingdom are anything to go by.
Barcelona is confident of the signing of highly rated Ajax Amsterdam defender Matthijs De Ligt when the transfer window reopens this summer according to the publication from The Independent.
It was revealed that a £60m transfer fee would be enough to prise De Ligt away from Ajax in the summer as Barcelona attempt to reunite him with Frenkie De Jong at Barcelona next season.
De Ligt and De Jong play together for both club (Ajax Amsterdam) and country (Netherlands) and the latter has already agreed on a transfer to Barcelona this summer.
De Jong signed a pre-contract agreement with Barcelona and he’s expected to join them later this year after the Spaniards agreed to a €65m deal for the midfielder plus €10m in add-ons.
Barcelona are not the only team in the hunt for De Ligt with clubs like Premier League champions Manchester City, French giants Paris Saint Germain and Manchester United also interested in a deal for him.
Three-time European champions Manchester United are in need of a quality centre back ahead of next season and the 19-year-old definitely fits the bill.
Barcelona Turn Down Chance To Sign Man Utd Target
Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona have rejected the opportunity to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose this summer.
This is according to the latest reports coming out of the media in Spain.
Danny Rose was offered to Barcelona in their quest to sign a left-back this summer thereby providing competition for first choice Jordi Alba.
Barcelona left-back Alba has not been challenged in that position since Lucas Digne left the club for Premier League side Everton last summer.
The specific report from popular Spanish media outlet SPORT revealed that Danny Rose offered himself to Barcelona but the Catalans passed up the opportunity to sign him.
Recent reports claimed that the Manchester United target is valued at £20m by Tottenham Hotspur.
Danny Rose had earlier been placed on the transfer market at Spurs and manager Mauricio Pochettino tries to shake things up.
The England international left-back was part of the Spurs team that lost their first ever Champions League final.
Danny Rose and Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 2-0 via the goals from Mohamed Salah (penalty) and Divock Origi who had come on in the second half as a replacement for Roberto Firmino.
Barcelona Offer Six Players In Bid To Sign Man Utd Target Neymar
Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona have offered six players in the bid to sign Paris Saint Germain (PSG) attacker Neymar according to the latest media reports.
Barcelona want to sign the PSG star this summer and they are ready to offer some of their players in a swap deal.
According to Sky Germany, Barcelona have offered six players in their quest to sign Neymar.
The Catalan giants have offered €100m (£90m) plus two out of the six players offered by Barcelona.
Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele, Nelson Semedo, Ivan Rakitic, Malcom, and an unnamed player.
Neymar wants to return to Barcelona after two years in Paris.
The 27-year-old became the most expensive player on the back of his move to PSG from Barcelona.
PSG paid €222m for his transfer and the French giants want a similar amount for the player to return to Barcelona.
Neymar has already told senior PSG officials that he wants to return to the Nou Camp after an injury-hit year at the club.
He has scored 51 goals in 58 appearances for PSG over two seasons.
The Brazilian national team player spent four years at Barcelona and he scored 105 goals in the process as well as win the 2015 Champions League title.
€60m Asking Price Slammed On Arsenal Target Malcom
North London giants Arsenal have been dealt a major transfer blow in their pursuit of Barcelona winger Malcom after his club slammed an outrageous transfer fee on him.
The Gunners are one of many clubs interested in the young Brazilian player but the transfer fee quoted by Barcelona will almost certainly scare them away.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Barcelona won’t let Malcom leave the club permanently unless they receive €60m for him which will represent a profit of €19m.
Malcom became a Barcelona player last summer after the Catalan giants snapped him up from under the noses of Italian Serie A club AS Roma.
The Italian capital club had agreed on a deal with his then club, Bordeaux before Barcelona swooped in on him.
The 21-year-old has spent one year at Barcelona but he has not been able to nail down a spot in the first XI.
Malcom has been on the fringes of the first team at Barcelona and the recent arrival of Antoine Griezmann has pushed him further down the attacking order at the Nou Camp.
Apart from Arsenal, the Brazilian player has also been linked with a move to other Premier League sides like Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.
