Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has revealed that the players are gutted after the disappointing loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers in their Premier League clash at the Molineux on Tuesday night.

Wolves got the better of Manchester United for the second time in almost three weeks after a 2-1 defeat.

Manchester United had earlier lost 2-0 to the same opponent in the FA Cup quarterfinals last month but they started well in their Premier League game at the Molineux.

Scott McTominay gave the visitors the lead in the 13th minute but they were unable to build on that advantage despite creating a lot of good opportunities.

Wolves fought back in the 25th minute through Diogo Jota after Manchester United midfielder Fred was dispossessed in the Red Devils’ half.

Both sides settled for a 1-1 draw at the halftime interval before the game changed completely when Manchester United skipper Ashley Young was sent off for two yellow cards in the 57th minute.

Wolves went on to score the winning goal twenty minutes later through an own goal from Manchester United defender Chris Smalling.

In his reaction to the defeat, Scott McTominay said that Manchester United didn’t deserve to lose the game after they created several opportunities against the Midlands club.
