Premier League title winner Joleon Lescott has urged Arsenal manager Unai Emery to strengthen his squad with quality defenders in the current transfer window.
The ex-Premier League defender advised Unai Emery about his Arsenal squad while he was on Sky Sports as monitored by the Daily Star.
Joleon Lescott was of the opinion that the Gunners’ problems are mainly defensive rather than attacking and that Unai Emery should boost his squad with quality defenders.
The ex-Manchester City, Everton and Sunderland left-back cum centre back went on to praise the Gunners’ attacking duo of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette before adding that he won’t want to face the two players as a defender.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has admitted that the North Londoners can only sign players on loan despite the fact that his squad has been decimated with injuries especially on the defensive front.
The Gunners won’t be able to call on the services of both Rob Holding and Hector Bellerin for the rest of the season following respective serious knee injuries.
England defender Holding sustained the injury last month against top four rivals Manchester United, while Spanish right-back sustained the knee problem during the 2-0 win over Chelsea at the weekend.
