Italian Serie A giants Napoli have opened talks to sign PSV Eindhoven winger Hirving Lozano according to various media reports.
Mexican international star Lozano has been repeatedly linked with a transfer to three-time European champions Manchester United but Napoli could usurp the Red Devils in the race to sign the player.
Italian news portal Calciomercato claimed that Napoli are in talks to sign the Manchester United-linked player.
It was also revealed that his Dutch club has slapped the sum of €35m on the winger.
Manchester United and Napoli are not the only ones interested in signing the 23-year-old.
The player has been attracting interests from other European heavyweights like Italian Serie A champions Juventus, Inter Milan, and Chelsea.
Hirving Lozano gained worldwide recognition last summer during the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
The Mexican star stunned the world champions Germany by scoring the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over the Germans in their first game in Group F at the tournament in Russia.
Germany never recovered from that setback as they crashed out of the group stage, while Mexico went on to reach the first knockout stage before they were beaten 2-0 by Brazil in the last 16.
