Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has made the decision to stay at Old Trafford despite the interest of Champions League holders Real Madrid.

Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid stepped up their interest in the England international star towards the end of last year.

Real Madrid contacted the player and his representatives about a possible transfer to the club.

Marcus Rashford was said to be open to a move to Real Madrid at that time according to The Sun and that was mainly as a result of doubts over his playing position under the sacked Jose Mourinho.

Former Inter Milan and FC Porto manager Mourinho was dismissed after an underwhelming start to the season and was swiftly replaced by ex-Red Devils striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Marcus Rashford has jettisoned the idea of moving to Spain with Real Madrid after finding a new lease of life at Old Trafford under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Manchester United Academy graduate has found the back of the net on two occasions in the three games played under Solskjaer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has led the Red Devils to three wins from his three games in charge following victories over Cardiff City, Huddersfield Town and Bournemouth.
