Before now, Italian Serie A outfit AC Milan were tipped to land Spanish international Cesc Fabregas from Chelsea but that may not be the case again as they face competition from French Ligue 1 side Monaco.
Cesc Fabregas is known for his quality and experience but that has not helped him gain regular playing time at the Stamford Bridge under manager Maurizio Sarri which makes him make up his mind to leave the West London side.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder has made it clear that he still young and has many years to play active football but that is not to the Italian boss who has relegated him to bench roles in the team.
However, AC Milan were believed to be interested in having the signature of the star player with reports that a deal was almost agreed ahead of the January transfer window which reopens tomorrow.
With the emergence of Monaco, headed by former Arsenal player Thierry Henry, it is feared that Milan might lose out on the experienced player.
Suggestions are that Monaco have got the wealth of the relationship of their manager with Fabregas to convince him to seal a deal in coming days.
