Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has opened talks over a possible transfer to the Brazilian Serie A when the transfer window reopens at the start of next month.

The latest development over the future of the young Belgium-born Brazilian international player was revealed by Santos president Joe Carlos Peres.

In a chat with A Tribuna, the president of the Brazilian Serie A outfit revealed that the player and his family are in support of a transfer to Santos but Manchester United have made things difficult.

He further stated that they are aware that his current contract runs out in the middle of next year but Santos want the player before then.

Andreas Pereira has been attracting interests from several clubs in Europe after failing to nail down a spot in the Manchester United XI.

He has made just six appearances for Manchester United in all competitions.

The 22-year-old has a contract that runs out in the summer of 2019 but the Red Devils can activate the extra year clause in his current Manchester United contract to take him till the end of the 2019/20 season.

Apart from Santos, the young Brazilian midfielder has been strongly linked with the Premier League London trio of Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham United.

Spanish La Liga giants Valencia are also keen on a move for the player.
