Manchester City have made contact with Real Madrid midfielder Isco Alarcon in the bid to sign him.

According to the publication from Spanish media portal AS via Talksport, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola wants to sign Isco who has fallen out of favour with Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari.

Isco has battled with a lack of game time at the Estadio Santiago Bernebeu since Argentine tactician Solari became manager.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with the 26-year-old since new manager Unai Emery took charge in the summer.

Unai Emery is aware of the quality possessed by the Spanish international player during his time in La Liga with clubs like Valencia and Sevilla.

He was recently part of the Spanish national team that failed to impress at this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

Isco and Spain were eliminated in the first knockout stage of the tournament by the host nation.

Russia defeated Spain on penalties in their last 16 clash after both sides had played 1-1 at the end of regulation time and extra time.

Isco has failed to live up to the expectations of many Real Madrid fans who believed that he could step up in place of former talisman Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juventus this summer in a deal worth an initial fee of €100m.
