One for the future: Liverpool have gotten another Van Dijk in this youngster

virgil van dijk, man united, epl

Virgil van Dijk has been a great buy for the Reds since his move to the Anfield last season.

Eyebrows were raised by fans and media when Jurgen Klopp unexpectedly splash a huge £75m on his signature, making him the most expensive defender in the world. Nonetheless, the Dutchman has justified his price tag so far.

His presence at the back has brought solidity and quality to the team’s defending prowess.

His aerial threat is another reason the former Southampton man has become fans favourite in just a few periods of time at Anfield.

Apart from ensuring there are no defensive errors from him, the Dutch superstar often makes sure that his partners are carried along and are at alert to prevent any danger at all time.

Unluckily for the Anfield faithful, Van Dijk might not last long on their radar as he’s in his early 30s and it’s equally believed he won’t spend much time playing actively due to his age.

In spite of this, the Merseyside club shouldn’t be too worried because they have gotten a very young Dutchman who could be as good as van Dijk in the nearest future if properly nurtured.

16-year-old Ki-jana Hoever is being tipped for greatness as a result of his ever-impressive performances for the young Liverpool team this season.

Ki-jana joined Liverpool’s youth team from Eredivisie side Ajax during the summer transfer window and he has been awesome for the Reds.

The youngster wasn’t just a quality center-back who can read the ball so well, he is equally a versatile player who can play any position at the back of the pitch.

His runs and timely tackles as such a tender age is an assurance there is a great future ahead of him, should he remain cool-headed and ready to learn new things.

Despite being 16 years of age, the young Dutchman has already featured for the team’s U23 side and he wasn’t a pushover in all the matches he’d played so far.

The most eye-catching display from the youngster was against Everton in a game that ended 1-0 in favor of the Reds.

Ki-jana was initially deployed at the right-back position, however as the match progresses, he was moved back to his favorite center-back position.

He was full of energy and ideas throughout the encounter
and he deservedly got the praise of his manager Neil Critchley who tagged his performance against their neighboring rivals ‘unbelievable’.

In no time, the youngster could be given a run-in by Jurgen klopp even if it means training with the first-team squad so as to assess his abilities more critically.

Ki-jana should be inspired by Liverpool’s academy products Joe Gomez and Alexander-Arnold in his way to becoming a great player for the Anfield outfits

Thomas Meunier

Premier League giants Manchester United have received a huge transfer blow in their pursuit of Paris Saint Germain (PSG) defender Thomas Meunier.

The Red Devils were said to be making headway in their quest to sign him this summer until his interview with reporters earlier this weekend.

Thomas Meunier talked about his future immediately after the league game with Dijon on Saturday evening as he revealed that he wants to stay at PSG beyond this summer.

The Belgian international was quick to point out that the decision to stay or leave the French capital club in the summer is not in his hands.

According to him, he will like to see out his contract at the club.

Meunier has one year left on his contract with PSG at the moment and the French Ligue 1 champions might sell him rather than risk losing him for free.

Manchester United are in desperate need of a new right-back ahead of next season and Meunier is one of their main targets for that position.

With one year left on his current deal with PSG, Manchester United will be able to get him for a moderate transfer fee.

He has won two league titles in his three-year spell at the club till date.

Why summer window is a difficult one for Klopp

Timothy Aiyeku

jurgen klopp

A Liverpool reporter Ian Doyle is of an opinion that manager Jurgen Klopp has a lot of issues to deal with ahead of the coming summer transfer window.

With the summer transfer window set to open on Thursday in England alone, manager Jurgen Klopp has had his attention on specific players as he also hopes to bring in new players just like other clubs.

It would be recalled that a total of £170 million was spent on bringing in new players like Brazilian international Alisson Becker, Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Although, Jurgen Klopp has already noted that he will not be bringing in a lot of players while insisting that there might not be a big money buy but the question of what exactly to do remains an issue for the German boss according to the reporter.

Ian Doyle claims the Reds team may have not won the English Premier League title but it cannot be taken away from them that they have to a good team, especially after learning that they lost just a game in the course of the entire EPL season and won 98 points.

However, Ian Doyle stressed that the pressure will be on Jurgen Klopp over what to do and who to bring in because of the robust team he has gathered.

Done Deal!!! Two “new” Liverpool signings have already arrived

Timothy Aiyeku

It is has been suggested by the English Premier League outfit Liverpool legend John Barnes that the team have already secured a new signing in the duo of England international Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez.

The two players are very important members of the manager Jurgen Klopp team but they were left out of the major part of the just-concluded season owing to various degrees of injuries.

The former Arsenal midfielder had a serious injury in last season’s Champions League and has since been out, only to return at the ending part of the season, yet he showed he has got a lot to offer.

Also, Joe Gomez started with a perfect partnership with Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk and they both ensured the Reds team conceded the least number of goals but he was made to leave out as a result of the injury he sustained.

However, the Liverpool legend has insisted that his former team have no reason to move out for new signings as he claims that the two players should be regarded as new signings because they have not been with the team on the pitch.

He observed that the fact that the major players would be staying at the club makes it a big one for manager Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool to seal deal for Sporting youngster

Timothy Aiyeku

The emerging report claims that the Merseyside outfit Liverpool on the verge of sealing a deal with Sporting Lisbon star forward Andre Cardoso ahead of the coming summer transfer window.

The manager Jurgen Klopp side have got a big squad but they are still being linked with a number of quality players with suggestions that they will seek to strengthen in order to challenge for more titles next season.

Liverpool had missed out of the English Premier League this season with a slim difference as they finished a point behind Man City, a development they will seek to avoid in the coming season.

However, Andre Cardoso has been reported to be on his way out of the Portuguese outfit and could end up at the Anfield should an agreement be reached between both clubs.

Andre Cardoso’s exit from the Sporting Lisbon has been officially confirmed but it has not been mentioned where his destination would be despite the obvious interest from the Merseyside outfit.

Andre Cardoso has therefore been tipped to come in as a youth player and benefit from the experience of the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino but he could also be given the opportunity if he plays to deserve it.

Timothy Aiyeku

Divock Origi

The Merseyside outfit Liverpool have already opened talks for a new deal with Belgium international Divock Origi ahead of the coming season.

It was initially reported that Divock Origi would be leaving the club at the end of the season as a result of his lack of playing time but that seems to be changing at the moment with Liverpool impressed by his performance.

Divock Origi has been useful for the Jurgen Klopp team despite his lack of playing time as his brace against Spanish La Liga outfit will not be forgotten in a hurry which adds to the two important wins he got his team in the course of the season.

This has already improved the profile of the player and it has been considered that he should not be allowed to leave the club anytime soon.

However, the Reds team are now ready to pay Divock Origi more than the usual £60 million in his current contract to be able to convince him on a stay and as a way of rewarding him for a good job.

Meanwhile, the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has insisted that he would keep his team together and will not need to move out for big signings, stressing that he is happy with his squad.
