Virgil van Dijk has been a great buy for the Reds since his move to the Anfield last season.
Eyebrows were raised by fans and media when Jurgen Klopp unexpectedly splash a huge £75m on his signature, making him the most expensive defender in the world. Nonetheless, the Dutchman has justified his price tag so far.
His presence at the back has brought solidity and quality to the team’s defending prowess.
His aerial threat is another reason the former Southampton man has become fans favourite in just a few periods of time at Anfield.
Apart from ensuring there are no defensive errors from him, the Dutch superstar often makes sure that his partners are carried along and are at alert to prevent any danger at all time.
Unluckily for the Anfield faithful, Van Dijk might not last long on their radar as he’s in his early 30s and it’s equally believed he won’t spend much time playing actively due to his age.

- Chelsea and Manchester United in intense competition for this €50m-rated youngster
- Fabinho’s future causes rancour amongst Liverpool chief
In spite of this, the Merseyside club shouldn’t be too worried because they have gotten a very young Dutchman who could be as good as van Dijk in the nearest future if properly nurtured.
16-year-old Ki-jana Hoever is being tipped for greatness as a result of his ever-impressive performances for the young Liverpool team this season.
Ki-jana joined Liverpool’s youth team from Eredivisie side Ajax during the summer transfer window and he has been awesome for the Reds.
The youngster wasn’t just a quality center-back who can read the ball so well, he is equally a versatile player who can play any position at the back of the pitch.
His runs and timely tackles as such a tender age is an assurance there is a great future ahead of him, should he remain cool-headed and ready to learn new things.
Despite being 16 years of age, the young Dutchman has already featured for the team’s U23 side and he wasn’t a pushover in all the matches he’d played so far.
The most eye-catching display from the youngster was against Everton in a game that ended 1-0 in favor of the Reds.
Ki-jana was initially deployed at the right-back position, however as the match progresses, he was moved back to his favorite center-back position.
He was full of energy and ideas throughout the encounter
and he deservedly got the praise of his manager Neil Critchley who tagged his performance against their neighboring rivals ‘unbelievable’.
In no time, the youngster could be given a run-in by Jurgen klopp even if it means training with the first-team squad so as to assess his abilities more critically.
Ki-jana should be inspired by Liverpool’s academy products Joe Gomez and Alexander-Arnold in his way to becoming a great player for the Anfield outfits
