Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has emerged as a strong target for Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona ahead of the winter transfer window in January.
This is according to Sportsmole which revealed that Barcelona want to sign him on loan in the next transfer window with the option of making the deal a permanent one next summer when the short-term loan contract ends.
It was revealed that Mesut Ozil is seen as a possible replacement for French World Cup winner Ousmane Dembele who has lost the trust of Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde.
Young French attacker Dembele has endured several punishments for his lack of discipline in the past and Barcelona bosses are fed up with his conduct.

Mesut Ozil has fallen out of favour with Arsenal manager Unai Emery and he’s no longer guaranteed a place in the Arsenal first team unlike what was obtainable when former manager Arsene Wenger was at the club.
The German played just 24 Premier League games for Arsenal last season and his situation has deteriorated this season.
Mesut Ozil has played just one league game this season.
