David Fincher and Netflix are once again in the talk about the third season of Mindhunter. The second instalment arrived on Netflix two years ago, acclaim from critics was outstanding, yet fans were still eagerly awaiting word that there would be more episodes coming their way soon enough.
Mindhunter is a psychological, thrilling crime drama on Netflix that Joe Penhall created. The first season came out on October 13, 2017, and it’s about true crimes from years past.
The last series they watched was Mindhunter season 2, which Netflix released on August 16, 2019. It’s been way too long since we’ve had some new episodes, and I can’t wait until the third one comes out.
However, fans have been getting more and more impatient after the recent news of Fincher being in talks for season 3.
Mindhunter Season 3: Will it be renewed?
Netflix officials and Fincher have been talking about the possibility of filming Mindhunter season 3. The two parties are currently in negotiations to make this possible, with discussions going smoothly so far.
Netflix has put the third season of Mindhunter on hold. They didn’t cancel it. They just released all cast and crew from their contracts so that one executive producer could focus on directing his first film in addition to serving as producer for another series this year (Love, Deaths & Robots).
The fate of the show is currently undecided. It has been on hold for years, but this does not mean it will be cancelled; there’s still a chance its renewal status might change soon. So till now, there isn’t any official news regarding Season 3.
Mindhunter Season 3 Cast
The cast members have been so busy with their new projects that it will be difficult to reunite them again. However, Most of the cast have said that they would be up for a return to Mindhunter. They said they would love to do more work on Mindhunter as it was one of the best shows in their careers.
If we’re lucky, there’s a chance Ford (Groff) and Tench (Holt McCallany) will come back. So we could expect some of the returning cast for the third season of Mindhunter.

According to TechRadar 247, Netflix and Fincher have been negotiating over the third season of Mindhunter. If an agreement is reached, fans can expect it to release by 2022 or early in 2023 on Netflix.
Though we’re all eagerly waiting for the release of Mindhunter Season 3, as it’s still on hold and hard to predict when that may be.
