Gunners are on the brink of signing Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid. 22-year old will travel to London for Medical in coming days. Arsenal has signed the young midfielder to replace former Real Madrid star Mesut Ozil. Recently, Ozil joined Fenerbahçe S.K. Turkish side as he was not included by Arteta in his Premier League squad this season.

Martin joined Madrid in 2015 but failed to make any impact. He played under current Manager Zidane in the B team when he came to Spain as 17 years old. However, he was in the first two games of this La Liga season, but he was not the main man in Zidane’s eye. Martin was loaned out to Real Sociedad FC last season, and it was expected the same transfer would happen. But, at the last moment, Real Madrid denied Sociedad after receiving a request from Arsenal.

Martin Odegaard in Premier League

The 22-year old midfielder once hailed as Norwegian Messi has failed to mark his top-level football status. Now he has a chance to prove himself in Premier League. It will be interesting to see how Arteta uses him.

Arsenal lost to Burnley in their 4th Round FA Cup match. Premier League hasn’t been what fans were hoping for this season as they are 11th in the table behind their North London Spurs, who are in the top half of the table.
