Kurt Zouma has been able to establish himself at the heart of Chelsea defence and that has not gone unnoticed as the West London outfit are set to reward him with a new and improved deal.

The France international became a new and improved player this season after he was left out of action on several occasions last season with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen as the pair for the centre-back role. Everything changed after the coronavirus break which ensured more playing time under Frank Lampard.

Following the change in the defence line up by manager Frank Lampard and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, the Blues defence became better with Kurt Zouma remaining as a central defender alongside summer signing Thiago Silva.

The partnership of Kurt Zouma and Thiago Silva has been praised by manager Frank Lampard, fans and pundits as the West London outfit can now boast of clean sheets across all competitions.

With the knowledge that Thiago Silva is 36 and will not have many years to play at the Stamford Bridge, Kurt Zouma has proven he can be trusted and become a leader in the team with his performance.
However, Kurt Zouma will be handed a new and improved contract following reports that talks are underway between the player’s representative and the West London club.

This is expected to serve as a reward to the26-year-old for standing up to save his career and the team despite the ups and downs that have trailed his career from his first year at Chelsea.

It would be recalled that Kurt Zouma was the one bright spot for the Blues team in his first season but that campaign did not end well as the Blues finished 10th on the Premier League table.

Meanwhile, Kurt Zouma has been tipped to be a future captain at the Stamford Bridge.
