It has been revealed that the English Premier League outfit Arsenal had the opportunity to sell France international Alexandre Lacazette in the last summer transfer window but failed to make good use of it.
The French striker has a running contract with the Gunners until 2022 and there no signs of formal talks for a new deal.
The former Lyon striker was linked with a move from the North London outfit in the summer but Mikel Arteta shelved the plans to let him leave with the hope that he would deliver goals this season.
However, it has been revealed by David Ornstein of The Athletic that the North London outfit had a late bid from an Italian club for Alexandre Lacazette. It is understood that the reason for the rejection is because the offer did not match his valuation.
It is, therefore, unknown if AS Roma will return for the signature of the former Lyon striker as the North London outfit might consider his sale because of his poor form and lack of cutting edge.

Pundits have asked manager Mikel Arteta to get rid of Alexandre Lacazette and bring in another striker as he has not been helpful in the current situation at the club.
Former Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has carried the burden of goal scoring at the Emirates Stadium for the last two seasons and now that he is not in the best of form, the French striker has been exposed.
Howbeit, Alexandre Lacazette has until the end of the season to prove he wants to remain at the Emirates Stadium by scoring goals or he would be offered to his suitors when the summer window is opened.
The North London outfit will hope on Gabriel Martinelli, who has just returned from injury to help the team score more goals.
