English Premier League outfit Liverpool are showing seriousness in their pursuit of Ozan Kabak with reports calming that they have made contact with the player.
Ozan Kabak was linked with the Reds team in the summer transfer window but in the end, they failed to bring him in but with the latest development of injuries at the club, manager Jurgen Klopp will be left with no option than to sign a central defender.
Calcio Mercato reports that the Merseyside outfit wants to replace Virgil Van Dijk who is injured and might not return before the end of the season as they are now short of a defender.
Liverpool will also have to battle for the signature of Ozan Kabak before landing him as other suitors are serious in their chase. Italian Serie A outfit AC Milan are reported to be keen on the service of the 20-year-old.

Schalke are currently not having the best of time financially due to the effect of the coronavirus pandemic and that has affected the market value of the player to have dropped from 35 million euros to 25 million euros (£22million).
Also, the German outfit have been in poor form in 2020 as they have not won a single fixture in the Bundesliga since mid-January. That is enough for Ozan Kabak to force a move away from the club.
His age also makes it a perfect deal for manager Jurgen Klopp with Liverpool planning to bring in a defender that will be able to pair with the Dutch central defender when he returns.
Howbeit, manager Jurgen Klopp is confident a central defender will join his team in the coming weeks, when the transfer window is opened as the likes of Virgil Van Dijk, Fabinho, Trent Arnold are all injured. They are currently being covered by Rhys Williams, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.
