Two North London outfits Arsenal and Tottenham have been identified as the major suitors for Bayern Munich center-back Jerome Boateng ahead of the next summer transfer window as his contract with the German Bundesliga runs out in 2021.

He has been able to get his career back on track under Hansi Flick it that does not stop him from moving on for a fresh challenge and the Premier League is reported to be his likely destination.

Jerome Boateng is 32-year-old but his performance has caught the attention of several clubs, as they do not mind his current age but he is preferably interested in a move to either Tottenham or Arsenal, according to reports.

The interest from the two North London club was confirmed by Sport Bild chief reporter Christian Falk, who confirmed the plans by both clubs to improve their centre backs.

Falk re-tweeted a post from @TheSpursExpress which reads “Tottenham and Arsenal are amongst a host of Premier League teams who are interested in Jermone Boateng. Jose Mourinho is ‘watching the development’ of a potential move, with his contract expiring next summer.”

The German Bundesliga giants might not stand in the way of the defender, knowing that they have a lot of options in their team but there could e a rethink if David Alaba leaves as reported.

Howbeit, Arsenal made have secured the signature of Gabriel Magalhaes and might not have a need for any more centre backs, not with the resurgence of Rob Holding in the team.

The fact that the Bayern Munich defender does not have age on his side makes it difficult for manager Mikel Arteta to consider him because or is belief in youth players like William Saliba.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are believed to e keen on new central defenders and manager Jose Mourinho will consider such an opportunity.
