English Premier League outfit Chelsea almost lost their star player, Emerson Palmieri to their London rivals West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
The Italian defender was not at his best last season and that almost led to his exit from the club. He was reported to seek a new challenge as he was linked with a number of clubs, including Juventus, Inter Milan for a move.
Amongst all the teams that were on the line for Emerson Palmieri, West Ham United were the favourites ahead of the It lain teams but the move failed and he had to remain at Stamford Bridge.
However, Emerson Palmieri cannot boast of regular playing time under manager Frank Lampard this season with the arrival of Ben Chilwell. So far, he has had three appearances with two in the Carabao Cup.

It would be fair to say that a move for the Italian will not be out of place with the Italian clubs reported being keen on his signature and that keeps West Ham United out of the race.
Emerson Palmieri had made 58 appearances for the Blues team across all competitions, scoring a goal and five assists and that has earned him the second-choice ahead of Alonso in the team.
Frank Lampard has given the hint that he would need Emerson Palmieri at the club but it is not sure the player is patient enough to wait at the Stamford Bridge as an option and not a regular player.
A juicy offer from any of the big teams in Italy could lure Emerson Palmieri out of the Stamford Bridge as he already has an experience of the Serie A, having played for AS Roma and Palermo in the past.
Meanwhile, Emerson Palmieri could remain in Chelsea for the rest of the season before leaving in the summer transfer window.
