Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has given a major hint to fans that Gabon international forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will soon return to his goal-scoring form.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been the highest goal scorer at the North London outfit for the last two seasons, scoring as many as 23 goals across all competitions but he has been quiet for the last few Premier League games.

The former Borussia Dortmund forward has come under attack as he is yet to score in the last couple of Premier League games. He was on the score sheet in the Europa League but two successive defeats against Man City and Leicester City in the Premier League have forced fans to call him out.

The Spanish boss who has refused to blame Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hints that he could be used in a central role during subsequent games with the hope that it could get him scoring goals again
While Alexandre Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah, and Willian have been tried in the centre-forward position without delivering the desired result, it could be the turn of the Gabon international with Mikel Arteta saying “Yes that’s a very possible thing” when asked.

“It will depend on the games, it will depend on who he’s surrounded with. I think it’s very important to see who is around him and why we’re doing it.

“Not just the fact that we’re doing it, why we’re doing that and what we’re going to get by doing these positive things. Of course, there’s a very strong possibility to play him as a (number) 9.”

Mikel Arteta, therefore, stressed that there is no confidence issue with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as he expressed confidence that the forward will get scoring again.

This has been the call by many fans and pundits to the Gunners boss and that could be have been answered already, starting from the Premier League clash against Man United at the weekend.
