The last few games have not gone as planned for Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta as they suffered defeats against Man City and Leicester City but there could be more to boast of the Spanish manager.

The season looked hopeful for the North London outfit when it first started but it is no longer the same with the current circumstance of losing two successive defeats in the Premier League. The only compensation is that the Gunners recorded a win in their first Europa League game last Thursday.

Aside from the results from Mikel Arteta’s team, Dundalk boss Filippo Giovagnilo has stated that the Spanish boss remains an inspiration to him, noting his commitment to his footballing principles.

Filippo Giovagnilo stated that despite being a young coach, the former Man City assistant manager has been able to build a team that can confidently build up his defence in the box against a team like Liverpool without panic.

“Arteta is an unbelievable coach. I really like him. He is young and he has tried to apply his football principles the best he can. Can you imagine he was building up his defence in his box against Liverpool without panic? They never kicked the ball long”

“This is fantastic, things like that, and it really inspires me, I like this kind of coach who is not afraid of nothing. They want to get the result but through their football principles. This is amazing”

Having to inspire a coach like himself is a big achievement for Mikel Arteta at age 38 and it is safe to state that it is just the beginning of his managerial career with the potential he has shown.

Mikel Arteta has had few months as Arsenal manager and can boast of a Community Shield title and an FA Cup title. He is in the process of rebuilding the Arsenal team with the target of getting back to the Champions League with a top-four qualification.
